the consulate general

new discovery of old music.

i mean, i have had them on my ipod since last summer. i'm such a dummy for missing out for so long. i LOVE "lonesome sunday" and "65 and older" -- oh and "half-day honeymoon" (CLICK ON LINKS!) just kills me. mmm.....

here's "what time is it now" -- the only one on youtube :( but enough of a TASTE for you to go listen to the rest! i promise it won't disappoint!

the grammy performances

never been into the grammy awards. didn't see them on tv this year, had no desire to, but after what i've read/seen on the internet i'm not quite the cynic i was before.

mumford and sons, followed by the avett brothers, followed by bob dylan

1. WHAT A LINE UP!!!
2. what a dream come true it must have been for those guys to share the stage with a legend like dylan
3. wonderful performances....watch:

zoo kid

get outta the way justin beiber! when it comes to 16 year old musicians you are completely out of your league!

this kid's voice is amazing!

james blake

i didn't like this at first. it was too chilled-electronic... and then it started getting really sexy sounding! the vocals are definitely sexy and i dunno i guess the overall sound of it just grew on me because it reminds me of something you'd have playing lightly in the background during... well, you know...

and anyhow the video is gorgeous.

the parkinglot movie

i was watching a documentary called "the parking lot movie" and one of the attendants does a little singing in it... and it caught my attention.

it caught my brother's attention too because he emailed me the links to the youtube videos of the songs from the movie. they're great. very southern sounding - befitting the virginia corner parking lot that hosts the performance.
(BE SURE TO CHECK OUT HIS BANDCAMP)
