"On “East 4th,” James Madole is clearly borrowing some vocal tropes from Peter Silberman, and even throwing in some Justin Vernon-esque croaks here and there, but it doesn’t feel like cheap imitation. Rather, Madole is able to make his vocal delivery completely his own by not shying away from the stylings of his heroes, actually embracing the groundwork they’ve laid and playing with the tricks he’s learned from them."
